ABSTRACT

Introduction: COVID-19 is a disease that causes severe respiratory infections and has spread to various countries around the world, including Indonesia. The Indonesian government has made efforts to curb the spread of COVID-19 through vaccination. However, public acceptance of the vaccine varies among Indonesians related to COVID-19 vaccination beliefs. The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between beliefs and acceptance levels of Covid-19 vaccination among nursing students. Methods: This research used correlation analysis with a cross-sectional study involving 145 nursing students which selected by simple random sampling. This study used self-administered questionnaire to measure beliefs and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination. Data were analyzed by Pearson's Product Moment. Results: The result showed that there is a high correlation between beliefs and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccination among nursing students with p value=0,000 and r=0,876. Conclusion: Beliefs is one of the factors that influenced the acceptance of vaccination COVID-19 among nursing students, which can be used as a basis for providing future health education. © 2022, Sanglah General Hospital. ABSTRACT

One of the important efforts to suppress the spread of Covid-19 is through vaccination. This research aims to investigate whether factors of perception, motivation, and social support systematically related to Covid-19 vaccination readiness among nursing students. A cross-sectional study was conducted using purposive sampling among 198 nursing students. A multivariate regression analysis was performed to determine predictors of Covid-19 vaccination readiness among nursing students. The results showed that motivation is the most potent factor of Covid-19 vaccination readiness. Motivation and social support both have significant effect on Covid-19 vaccination readiness (β = 0.006 and β = 0.063, p < 0.05). However, the variable of perception has no significant effect on Covid-19 vaccination readiness. Findings in this study also reveal the presence of respondents who were not ready to have a vaccination against Covid-19, signifying the need for intervention to increase the readiness of Covid-19 vaccination. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. ABSTRACT

The Covid-19 pandemic is continuing and has an impact on changing lifestyles worldwide. Since mid-June 2020, Islamic boarding schools learning has been carried out with the blended method. The fundamental purpose of this study is to ascertain the santris' knowledge, attitudes, perceptions, and prevention behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic. The study used a cross-sectional design, with the population consisting of santris in Islamic boarding schools with varying educational levels and ages. Purposive sampling was used, and 833 respondents were selected. A questionnaire was used to conduct the online survey. Descriptive statistics were utilized to describe data retrieval results. The findings indicated that just a few respondents possess sufficient information regarding the indications, symptoms, and transmission of Covid-19;nevertheless, santris have a moderate level of knowledge regarding Covid-19 protection. The vast majority of santris believe Covid-19 affects their lives. However, Santris generally have less or negative information, attitudes, and impressions about Covid-19. As a result, government support is required for educational institutions to implement policies that increase santris' knowledge, attitudes, and perceptions of Covid-19. © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc.. ABSTRACT

Appropriate strategies on urban climate mitigation should be formulated by considering the physical morphology of the urban landscape. This study aimed to investigate, analyze, and promote possible strategies to mitigate Jakarta’s urban heat island (UHI) phenomena. Jakarta’s local climate zone (LCZ) was classified into 17 classes using Landsat 8 data and the random forest method. Land surface temperature (LST) characteristic in each LCZ class was analyzed from 2018, 2019 and 2020. The result revealed that most of the local climate zone in Jakarta is dominated by LCZ 6 (open low-rise) and LCZ 3 (compact low-rise), which is the typical residential area in Jakarta. However, the mean LST in 2018, 2019 and 2020 showed that LCZ 3 (compact low-rise) and LCZ 7 (lightweight low-rise) are the areas that were most likely causing high surface temperature with the highest UHI intensity. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, LST in Jakarta decreased drastically in some parts of the area, especially in public facility such as airport. However, the LST value in low-rise areas (LCZ 3 and LCZ 7) remains higher than the other LCZ classes. Materials of the building and land cover play a significant role in raising the land surface temperature. Therefore, mitigation strategies for urban heat islands in Jakarta should be focused on such particular areas mentioned.
